DIY Pretty Floral Pumpkins for Fall

Happy Fall! While I can’t believe that summer is over, I am so glad that it’s finally fall! The fall is my absolute favorite season, and I have an extra reason to love it now- baby girl was born in the fall! Since I had to keep things minimal this year (cuz, you know… newborns are hard!), I decided not to decorate. BUT I created this really pretty floral pumpkin for Pinhole Press! If I can only have one decoration up, it should be a showstopper, right?! You can find the DIY on their blog here!

This pumpkin was super quick and easy to make! I got all my supplies from Michael’s and whipped it up in about an hour. It’s the perfect glam fall DIY for your home. Plus you can make it in any color you want so you can match your decor!

Of course, gotta have a pun! So give ‘em pumpkin to talk about and make this adorable pumpkin for your home! See the post at Pinhole Press now.

Cinco de Mama- Mexican Celebration for Mother's Day

Looking for a way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day, or celebrate a mom-to-be? Look no further! This Cinco de Mama Party is a Mexican fiesta without the alcohol. It’s all about food, decor, and crafts! As a pregnant woman, being awkwardly excluded from holidays where everyone around you gets drunk is kinda weird. I know Cinco de Mayo may not be a drinking holiday in every country, but in the USA it’s a celebration of Mexican culture, food, and drinks. As a holiday lover, I hate to pass on any opportunity to celebrate. So, I made my own party that celebrates moms-to-be.

This party can really easily be converted into a birthday party, baby shower, or even a regular ol’ alcoholic party if you wanted to. The choice is yours!

Since I’m a little tight on cash these days (ya know... saving for a baby) I decided to keep it simple by using all supplies I had at home. That’s right- I only bought two things for this blog post! The papel picado banners from Amazon and the serape wooden tray from Michaels. Well, 3 if you count a box of churros that never made it into the setup but I’ll eat those later- don’t you worry!

I kept the table extra laid-back and skipped a tablecloth. Instead, I put a table runner down, which had a little fringe- so fun! I added papel picado along the edge of the table and as the backdrop, plus added some paper fans I had saved from a Cinco de Mayo party years ago. Hoarding has it’s good points too sometimes!

For my tableware, I used some gold plastic plates I had left over from Thanksgiving topped with an aqua blue plate. Each place setting was topped with a mini piñata filled with candy plus a bright pink fork and knife. I foresee lots of eating at this party, so each person got 2 napkins, a cute striped one and a fiesta one filled with piñatas, limes, and cacti.

Speaking of cacti... I put them everywhere! I have some wire cactus plants that I made along with succulents from around my house (fake as well, because I kill everything) and a cute felt cactus.

For decor, I added my fancy new tray from Michaels (half off!), my marquee light, and some colorful candles. I had to grab my painted skull I got in Mexico, and I added some fake flowers left over from my flower gift box  to add a delicate romantic touch to the table. Overall, I’m in LOVE with this setup.

Now, let’s talk about food. I’d serve this chicken taco recipe for a crowd because it’s so easy to make and so so SO good! I’ve made it for parties and everyone loves it. Then, add some mexican street corn dip on the side. Mexican street corn is my absolute favorite thing and I’m practically drooling just thinking about it right now. Then, add some easy chips and dip, homemade guac, and churros for dessert. For drinks, I recommend your favorite mocktail or some infused water or sparking water for a healthier choice! I went with strawberries and pineapples for my water. Delish!

Colorful Easter Brunch Party Idea

Welcome everyone, to what is probably the last Easter party/DIY of the season. In all fairness, I’m Greek Orthodox so my Easter is next Sunday (April 8) and so for that I’m right on time! It’s always weird to get the timing right, since I’m always thinking I have an extra week. For this reason, I wanted to keep this Easter table really simple and colorful. And best of all, affordable! I realized a lot of blog posts and parties can break the bank, and I know us millennials are on a budget. Like, always... so, here’s a very cheap, easy, and gorgeous Easter setup made for any budget!

I kept the table setup simple and glam by using this sequin table cloth. My sister got it for my bridal shower, and I’ve been using it ever since! It’s seriously gorgeous while not being too expensive. If you want to keep it even more budget friendly, opt for a white tablecloth (or whatever pastel color you have, really) and add a sequin table runner. At only $9 it’s a steal! All the glam, a fraction of the price.

For the table settings, I stacked some inexpensive plastic plates as sort of “charger plates” and added a cute Easter plate on top. This plate was from the dollar store! Holla for a dolla!! I’m sure you could find something equally cute in your local dollar store but if not check Target or even Party City for another option. I got my napkins from Home Goods. Did you know they have a party supplies section?! With some awesome, hard to find brands as well. These are from Meri Meri and only cost me 5 bucks. Score! I added some gold utensils to make the polka dots pop and I just love how they pick up all the rainbow colors.

Speaking of rainbow colors... how cute is this streamer paper backdrop?! It’s so easy and cheap to make. I got my crepe paper from, you guessed it, the dollar store! Then I measured out one piece to find the length, went color by color and cut out a whole roll of each. I had a lot extra (like, a lot...) so unless you’re doing a big wall, you may only need half a roll. Mine didn’t go all the way down either, so that would affect how much you need as well. Once I tore all the pieces to the right length (that’s right, tore with my hands... like an animal) I taped them up in color order. Super cute, super easy, super colorful.

Now, to spruce up that table! I added some dollar store flowers I got last year and added the bunny ears I made last Easter. I put them in a simple milk jug vase that I got from (you guessed it!) the dollar store and placed that on a “placemat” that’s actually artwork! You can find the easy DIY for that here. I added some holographic Easter eggs (what?!) from Target filled with smaller Easter eggs. A small white crate from my wedding was filled with colorful rainbow Easter eggs and honeycomb balls. And, we can’t forget about bunny ears! A pile of headbands ensures that everyone is in the holiday spirit.

And, let's talk about those blocks! I really wanted a set of pastel rainbow blocks for an Instagram project I was going to do. Unfortunately, they were impossible to find so I made my own! I have a DIY for these coming soon, but I couldn't resist adding them to my Easter post.

And that’s all there is to it! A simple, affordable Easter table setup that will wow your family without breaking the bank. A lot of the items I either had on hand, used last year, or purchased very inexpensively.

Pink Disco Ball New Year's Eve Party

I absolutely love disco balls, glitter and sequins, so it’s no surprise that New Year’s Eve is one of my FAVORITE parties to plan for. It’s the one time of year that you can dress up in glitzy glam from head to toe, and not seem like a weirdo. Last year, I left my New Year’s plans to the very last minute, and ran to my local dollar store to grab some items. While it came out really cute in the end, this year I wanted to plan it out a whole lot more. I wanted it to be PINK. And SHINY. AND DISCO BALLS. Gimme allllll the disco balls! And, since Christmas can be super pricey (goodbye, money!) I wanted this party to be affordable. So, I ran around my house and collected a few items, while also investing in some pieces I can use again and again. I have to say I’m really happy with the results. Can I live in this party permanently?!

Since this party has a whoooole lot of stuff going on, I wanted to make it easy to get a list of all the supplies. It's all here in this excel sheet, right down to the confetti! You'll know exactly what I used and how much to order, in case you want to re-create the party, or to purchase a specific item. It'll come straight to your inbox in just minutes!

The printable is available in my resource library, which you can get totally FREE access to, just by signing up. What exactly do you get? Access to all my printables, including party planning guides, checklists, and my projects. By signing up, you'll have access to all projects- past, present and future!

To dress up your party, opt for an elegant white tablecloth instead of the usual plastic ones. This one is made of polyester and resists stains, so it’s perfect for popping it in the washer after the party is done! It’s also affordable too, just in case you end up with stubborn stains that just won’t come out.

Every New Year's Eve party needs as much sparkle as possible! These glasses are dressed up with some basic and inexpensive star wire, and I think they’re so worth it! Because pink + tinsel + champagne = perfection. Top them with a disco ball stirrer and you’re in business, baby!

For a fun party favor your guests are sure to love, grab a pack of disco ball cups! I have one I got on a Carnival cruise a few years back and I use it at almost every party I throw. It's the BEST for using on New Year's Eve!

For the table setup, I grabbed a bunch of white and pink items, and created a disco ball table runner! It was super easy, since all I had to do was scatter some disco balls down the center.

I also set up a bar in the corner to hold all our supplies. It acted as both a champagne bar and a confetti bar! All I had in this corner was a black desk, so I covered it up with a giant silver sequin tablecloth and some pink velvet to match the theme.

I also wanted to create a little "lounge" area, so I gathered some ottomans and pillows to make it comfy. I set everything up in the corner, and added a small table for everyone to set their drinks on. My zebra tray was the perfect addition. This little lounge didn't cost any money and looked super cute!

These balloon animal dogs got to make their debut once again. They make me so happy.

While we were ready to party the night away, Roger snuck in and explored before having a rest under the table. Maybe he was impersonating the zebra so he wouldn't be seen?!
